lyrics

Scarlet woke up the next morning in her bed. She sat up and got out of her bed, standing in the middle of her room and stretching. She had slept in just her panties last night so she wouldn't have to go through the effort of taking clothes off before putting work clothes on. She stumbled over to a pair of jeans she had on her floor and stepped into them, then slid on a tanktop. She looked down at the outfit she had on. "God, so boring..." Scarlet thought to herself. She scanned the room for a too-too or some arm cuffs. This is when she realized a huge portion of her clothes were missing.

Her heart dropped and she instantly ran towards anything that could have clothes in, on our around it. "Shit, shit, shit" Scarlet spat as she frantically looked for any of her clothes. She sat down on her bed, out of breath from the panic and from feeling an anxiety attack coming.

Then she heard someone in her kitchen and quickly stood up. She wasn't afraid to beat up someone, especially if they deserve it. She stomped to the kitchen, making no effort to be quiet, in fact, she was doing the opposite. "You got a LOT of nerve tryi-" Scarlet began shouting as she got closer, only to be interrupted by the sound of a baby crying. She stopped dead in her tracks and remembered, "Oh yeah... those two are here."

Scarlet let out a loud groan and kept going towards the kitchen. When she finally got there she noticed Libby had put a little baby gate in the doorway. Scarlet stepped over it, knowing she can't get mad about this because she knows it's to keep a baby alive. Libby was standing over the stove, bouncing a baby girl on her hip while stirring something in a pan. Next, to her feet a screaming and crying baby Clover was trying to get her mothers attention.

"Would you get her? Remember, all you have to do is pick her up." Libby said with her back still to Scarlet. "Can't Vega get her?" Scarlet asked and walked over to her fridge. She almost expected even the fridge to be cleaned out and wiped down. However, the fridge was normal like Scarlet's used to. She took our her Orange Juice and drank some right out of the carton.

"Vega is asleep," Libby replied. Then in the doorway, they both heard a voice, "No, I'm up now. Scarlet, why were you screaming?" Vega asked. Scarlet looked over to see Vega dressed in her Pajamas and the entire left half of her short blue hair was sticking up. Vega lazily walked over to baby Clover and picked her up into her arms. Baby Clover almost instantly stopped crying and wrapped her arms around Vega's neck. She might be adopted, but she was obviously Libby's daughter since you can calm her down with a simple cuddle or just a bit or attention.

Meanwhile, Scarlet couldn't get a beat on the younger one. It seems like Libby raised both of them like pets, dressing them in costumes and taking pictures of them. It was almost like Libby used them like accessories like those little dogs girls put in their purse. Even as they were simply just crawling on the floor they were dressed in particularly fancy looking baby clothes. One thing Scarlet noticed already, from the pictures she's seen of them, Libby will often dress one in girl clothes and the other in boy clothes so they match.

Vega had already put Baby Clover down. Scarlet could now easily see Baby Clover was currently dressed in a nightdress that looked more like an extravagant bridesmaid dress. The other baby, who's name Scarlet still didn't know and didn't feel comfortable asking, was dressed in some kind of old-timey pajamas a duke would have on. Other baby always seemed so mellow and only seemed to cry when she was hungry. When Gemma and Libby talked, Gemma had made many jokes to Libby about her daughter being a "Self-cleaning baby".

"Uh, I'm going to work," Scarlet said, feeling increasingly uncomfortable again seeing two Starlings in her kitchen. "In that?" Libby asked after finally turning around with the intention to give Scarlet a proper goodbye. "I would, but I assume somebody went through my room and did something with my clothes," Scarlet replied while crossing her arms, trying to use the most accusation tone she could muster. Libby perked up and quickly put her baby down, "Oh my stars!" she quickly scuttled out of the room, doing a quick "I'll be right back!" when she ran past Scarlet. Quickly following, they could hear her front door open then clothes.

Scarlet thought it was weird for Libby to just leave her babies on the floor like that, but anytime Scarlet's seen them in person it's been them crawling on the floor. She felt a little awkward, standing, waiting for whatever it was Libby was getting. Vega was sitting on her phone on the floor and Scarlet watched as Baby Clover crawled over to her and sat on Vega's lap almost like a cat would. And Vega just put one arm around her to stop her from falling and kept playing on her phone.

"That couch is really comfy," Vega said, "Where did you get it?"

"I found it on the side of the road"

"WHAT?!" Vega screamed, causing Baby Clover to scream as well, trying to imitate her. The chorus of yells went straight through Scarlet, making her tense up. She constantly felt regret for agreeing to let them stay. She was bold and mean, but not a monster. She knew she couldn't kick these girls out, but would gladly take any alternative. They heard the door open again, so Scarlet decided to bail on the conversation as quickly as possible and go meet Libby at the door.

Upon approaching the doorway from the hall, Scarlet could already tell Libby was using Wish Energy due to the glowing light peeking from the side of the wall. Scarlet's eyes met with the sight of Libby levitating various laundry baskets of black and pink folded clothes. Scarlet felt her heart skip a beat, not realizing how much clothes she actually had, also because Libby was in her hallway with various containers of clothes levitating around her.

"What are you doing?!" Scarlet yelled. Libby answered with a "Help me out, please?"

Scarlet quickly grabbed the nearest basket that was also low enough for her to grab with her hands. It was heavy, but not too heavy. From the kitchen, Vega could hear Scarlet scolding Libby for using her Starling powers places where people could see. "Oh, Scarlet, nobody is awake enough at this time in the morning to pay attention to that." Libby protested back, rolling her eyes and clearly not taking Scarlet serious enough.

The two brought the laundry to Scarlet's living room. "I'll sort through this while you're at work okay?" Libby asked as she sat down on Scarlet's couch (which looked more like a small messy bed right now). "Oh, and what would you like as a snack for when you get home?" Libby asked with a big grin on her face as she looked up at Scarlet.

"What? Why would I...?" Scarlet asked Libby.

"I find the best time for a snack is after working hard for a long time, so what would you like?" Libby asked.

"I don't want a snack, Libby," Scarlet replied monotone.

"Not now, but trust me, you will when you come home," Libby then realized this conversation wouldn't get her an answer and quickly added in, "how about I just make it a surprise."

"Please don't."

"No, it'll be great," Libby replied, now glowing a little bit.

Scarlet could only glare for a few moments before noticing she was almost late for work. She considered grabbing a petticoat skirt from one of the baskets before running out the door but realized she didn't have time.
